Two faces, two jobs

A knot isn't treated like undercoat. This brush carries two rows of curved blades, one on each side of the head: the wider-spaced face opens tight knots, the denser one then lifts the dead undercoat from the same area.

Stainless steel blades

The blades are stainless steel, rounded at the tip so they reach the skin without scratching it. They stay straight under pull, unlike soft pins that fold as soon as the coat resists.

Two head widths

The S is 6.5 cm wide, the L is 9 cm, both 17.2 cm long overall. The S works into legs, heads and smaller dogs; the L covers a big dog's back in fewer passes.

Rubberised handle

The handle is sleeved in soft rubber and pierced with an eyelet for hanging. The tool weighs about 130 g, light enough to feel the knot rather than force through it.

Work in small sections, starting at the tip of the coat and moving up.
